Lattice Semiconductor Corporation (LATTICE, Lattice Semiconductor) was founded in 1983 and is a company that designs, develops, and sells high-performance programmable logic devices and related system development software. Since the invention of the first in-system programmable (ISP) PLD in 1992, Lattice Semiconductor has been a leading supplier in this category. Currently, it offers over 300 ISP products with different performance, packaging, and temperature ranges. Typically, standard PLD devices require a 12V programming signal, which necessitates removing them from the printed circuit board and using dedicated hardware devices for programming. In contrast, ISP devices use 5V or 3.3V programming signals and can be programmed without removing them from the circuit board, thus shortening the design cycle, reducing production costs, and enabling simple, low-cost in-field reconfiguration through data files provided on computer disks and serial data lines. Additionally, Lattice Semiconductor provides users with ISP software development tools, with its latest being ispEXPERT, which runs on PC and UNIX platforms. Users can input, verify, debug design programs, perform logic simulation and time-domain analysis, and program ISP devices, among other functionalities, making it a powerful tool.
