ZiLOG Corporation was co-founded by industrial pioneers Federico Faggin and Ralph Ungermann in 1974. The company's latest product is the eZ80, which embeds Internet and DSP (Digital Signal Processing) capabilities into the Z80 architecture. The product range includes IR products, microcontrollers, microprocessors, PCMCIA, PC peripherals, TV controllers, and wireless products, among others. The Z80 series controllers produced by the company have been widely applied. In 1998, TPG (the Texas Pacific Group) acquired ZiLOG Corporation, positioning the market in three areas based on ZiLOG's design and production experience: communications, home entertainment, and integrated control. Currently, ZiLOG Corporation has a comprehensive proprietary design library, with four design centers in California, Texas, Idaho, and Washington, an advanced manufacturing facility in Idaho, a testing facility in Manila, Philippines, and a global customer service center established in Texas. There are currently 27 sales offices worldwide, with over 120 distribution points.
