Adafruit

Adafruit was founded in 2005 by Limor 'Ladyada' Fried, a hacker and engineer from MIT. Her goal was to create the best place online for learning electronics and to design the best products for manufacturers of all ages and skill levels. Adafruit is headquartered in the heart of New York City with over 100 employees and a 50,000+ square foot factory. Adafruit has expanded its range of products to include tools, equipment, and electronic devices personally selected, tested, and approved by Limor before entering the Adafruit store. Limor was the first female engineer on the cover of Wired magazine and was awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year title by Entrepreneur magazine. She is also a founding member of the New York Industrial Retention & Development Corporation's Industrial Advisory Committee.
