Honeywell
Honeywell's history in China dates back to 1935 when it established its first distribution office in Shanghai. During President Richard Nixon's 1972 visit to China, at the invitation of the Chinese government, the U.S. recommended elite enterprises from ten sectors to facilitate bilateral exchanges and promote China's modernization. Among these, the only U.S. oil and petrochemicals company selected for recommendation to the Chinese government was UOP, a subsidiary of Honeywell. The economic reforms of the 1980s marked the beginning of Honeywell's deeper integration into China's development, as it became one of the first multinational companies to set up representative offices in Beijing. At that time, Honeywell launched a series of high-quality investments. Currently, all four of Honeywell's business groups have operations in China, with the Asia-Pacific headquarters of every business unit relocated to the country. The company operates multiple subsidiaries and joint ventures across more than 20 cities in China. As of now, Honeywell's total investment in China exceeds $1 billion, with a workforce of over 12,000 employees.
